Suzuki DL1000

I am looking at traiding my KLR650 for a DL1000, My reasoning being that I want somthing a little more road come touring orientated to take the Mrs on a few trips but still want to do the odd bit of dirt now and then. I do not do that much heavy stuff but have done part of the Bovians and trips thru the mountains to Willowmore etc.

My question thus is can anyone tell me what the DL's are like off road as I have had the pleasure of doing +/- 300km on road, enjoying every minute.
