I have started a rebuild on what appears to be a 1995/6 RMX250. I don't know much about these bikes or how popular they were back then, but the ride on it (after raising it from a five-year hibernation in a shed) was awesome and in poor form it compared well with good KDX's I've ridden.
Any info or experience on these bikes will be appreciated. Did they compete on the local enduro circuit and how did they measure up against other bikes at the time?
The bike has a wide ratio box onto a RM250 top-end that is tuned for more low down power than the MX-versions. The power valve is a three-part mechanism that supplies a more controllable power band, but there is still a decent hit chase!
I got these two images off the web - mine did not look this nice at all, but every single original part is there!
