TA XL700V tappet adjustment

Time for tappet adjustment on my TA, front is easy and within spec, rear is a real pain. Inlet is in spec but exh needs to be adjusted (could squeeze the feeler gauge in under the cover). Any info on removing the rear valve cover?????????? Heat shield is off, exhaust is off, everything is off like the manual mention, but I still can not get the bloody cover off!!!!

Any help???
