in an attempt to break out of the "hey bmw, here's my bike, fit new chains and sprockets and bill me" mould, i am sourcing new sprockets and chain myself (in dire need of replacement).
some questions, mostly about the chain... first off, apparently I need a 520. say what? 5 whatty? help me out here, what does that mean? and what's the difference between O-ring and X-ring? Which are the better / stronger brands, and how much should I be paying?
for the rear sprocket, I am going to ask Fidel to hook me up. How do these things work? Is there a size, number of teeth, etc? (I could probably look that up on the BMW parts list)
for front sprocket, where should I shop and what should I be paying?
any advice would be appreciated...
