Yes Yes I dropped it!, went for a ride on my own on the dirt along the base of the Magaliesburg and then up Breedt's Nek pass, all went fine until I decided I needed to go up the rocky stoney little road right at the top which runs along the spine of the mountain to look at the view, I was perambulating along all very nicely thinking what a GS rider of note I was, I looked up for a second to see how clever I was to have come to admire the view, and gee! guess what the path, rocks and stones look much better from 6 inches away, I dont even remember falling off it happend so quickl.
Right then leap up look round to see if anyone's watching? breath sigh of relief coast is clear, ok time to pick up bike, I can do this!! easy!! well now I know these Monsters weigh 200kg I felt every flipping kilo, next trick I am on the right hand side of the Bike on a slope how the hell do I hold it upright and get around to the other side to put the side stand down? ANSWER to self carefully dumb ( think little box), anyway managed that now inspect said damage, badley scratched TT aluminium tappet cover protector, scratched and dinged tappet cover, and a cracked brand new out the box Wunderlich hand guard protector.
And seriously cracked EGO, get back on wobble down path, muttering serious threats about self mutilation and what a very very very small little box I was.
Anyway got home took off all the offending bits sanded, filled all the dings in the tappet cover and TT tappet protector and resprayed, and as they say by 10pm Bob's your Aunty, all repaired, looks like new, even plastic welded the crack in the hand guard will respray that at he office today.
Lesson one to self, riding on dirt alone not so clever!, GO TO GYM man that bike's heavy, number two dont get so clever and bloody complacent.
Oh! by the way does anyone have some Ego repair kits handy??. ;D
