half bemoerd met myself dat ek nou eers die Canola run ding agtergekom het

Fantastiese roete wat baie goed gemerk was. Julle mag maar organiseer  :thumleft:

Ek het erens gehoor ±192 bikes waarvan seker ⅔ KTM's was. Nie geweet daar is al soveel 1190's verkoop nie 

Ek het niks foto's op die roete geneem nie, die ryery was net te lekker. Die kos was ook baie goed.

Johnnie Bok sê asseblief baie dankie vir die mense daar.

What a fantastic day that was well organized, however I believe that the ladies would appreciate a mobile toilet on route.

Die eerste een wat ek en stroedle gedoen het, ek het dit baie geniet en stroedle op die pillion seat ook. Organisering was baie goed en die tjoppies baie lekker veral die "seconds". Ook nie kans gehad vir foto's nie maar hier is die wat ek kon inkry. Het darem genoeg topsoil van my bike afgewas vir die grasperk

Was my eerste run en baie geniet. Sal dit difinitief op die calendar merk vir volgende jaar. Het vet pret gehad!

Nie baie fotos geneem nie, maar hier so paartjies.

Looks like all had fun .. Just spoke to the guy I buy my gem stones from , seems he took a bit of a tumble (his first off-road ride) and came home with a broken arm . He enjoyed himself a lot and is just pissed that its going to be 6 weeks before he can ride again.

Heard of his fall... On the last watering hole he was very happy, smiling ear to ear and from there to the final stop he had a off.

Quite a few people took a few knocks..... sorry to hear about his arm. Hope everybody else that bought farms are OK.

The only thing of mine that took a beating was my finger tips going there because of the cold and my arse coming back....

Nice, Grrrr. That will definitely boost the field for next year. Everyone needs a unique tip design.
Lekker ride all round, I must say. I needed a day to clear my head, and that was just what the doctor ordered.

Yeah, what an absolutely awesome day out on the bike, thanks Johnnie Bok and all the helpers  :thumleft: The route was outstanding and the braai just as good. How awesome was that meat, so soft it melted in your mouth, wow.

I rode through with Andy660's group in the morning and besides freezing my ass off, we also managed to lose half the group through riders not knowing the basic etiquette of waiting for the rider behind you at an intersection  ???

The route was superb and very similar to the Eikebos ride of previous years, just lot more mellow and less technical. After once again watching countless riders binning their big bikes I couldn't help but contemplate how many riders get suckered into buying themselves oil tankers and then struggle to master them on basic tweespoor farm roads.
Hope all those that fell are okay and heal up soon, it's never nice getting hurt while having fun 

Having said that, there were a few others that rode GS1200’s and KTM 1190’s like they were plastics…
Who the hell was the youngster on the 1190 pulling those monster wheelies on the airfield? 
Yissie, that boytjie understands a 1190 like no one else I’ve seen before, seriously impressive.

The trip back with Andy660 was just as lekka and the pace considerably faster than on the way there 
All in all a perfect day out  :thumleft:

Dit was my eerste Canola Run en ek het dit baie geniet.

Great ride for my dad and I. Man that wind going up Sir Lowry's in the morning really had me worried for the day ahead. My 690 met my dik gat het lekker af gekak daar. Rode the tweespoor pass at Botrivier, then dirt roads from there all the way to Caledon. Stopped at the church at 0830 and left for fuel at 0832 after entering quickly. Those petrol attendants have all the time in the world. Made it back in time to hear something along the lines of "lekker ry almal". It was nice to see how little dust some of the roads had, it made it rather pleasant. All in all a great ride.

That twee spoor section was ridden just too slow for my 690. Die ding is 'n slet wat net vinniger wil ry.

Is that girl that fell fine? Was not a nice sight coming around the corner and seeing her lay there in the road. I helped three guys within 200m who fell. Easy on the throttle in the slippery stuff. Screenshots below (sorry if I hurt your ego with posting this).

Victim 3. Was worried this one broke his wrist, but all seemed good. After helping him, I turn around and see someone else fell on the same spot as 2, but a crowd had formed already to help him, so I jumped onto the bike.

So, now I have all this helmet camera footage and do not know what to do with it. Perhaps I should learn how to edit this.

Where were the technical bits? I only saw that water crossing and I know a KTM is not a jetski like a Yamaha so I gave it a miss. We fell far behind after picking up a old fence wire in the back wheel. However, the farmer did thank us for picking up the old loose pieces of wire though when he stopped by us.

I might have roosted someone at a mud hole towards the end but I did not feel like getting stuck. Sorry if I rode like a doos to some of you but I did try riding nicely. I was just enjoying myself so much.

We will be back next year, hopefully on time....
