Nice trip and pics. About the old car in the Hel. It was carried in there before the road was built by 2 brothers Van Zyl. I new the one brother Dirk who farmed near Sutherland. They carried and pulled the car along the riverbed by men from the Hel and donkeys. It was 17 miles from the Prince Albert side. In those days the Gamkapoortdam has not been built yet. They had to walk 19 miles to Calitzdorp to get fuel. They did not use the car long because of that. Annatjie Joubert and a doctor from Cape Town is the ownly private landowners in the Hel. Chris.
