to pin headlight plugs

I have had 2 GSA's , and both have had "perrished" plugs , the stealership want R460 for one plug
Anyone else experienced this , maybe its caused by heating and cooling , but the plugs just perish and crumble

I am gonna try a normal car plug from a common spares shop
