To self service or not to self service

My 2010 model ADV is due for a yearly service but I did not do 10 000 since last service. Clearly my priorities are not straight and I will work on that in the next year I prommise.

Anywho, I am now contemplating a self service doing the oils, brakes and filters. My question is.....is this advisable and how do I get the SERVICE display canceled on the speedo?
