Traction control 2009 BMW R1200GS

Is traction control on 2009 BMW R1200GS a deal breaker, I had 2009 with TC which I sold few years back and now I have just bought a 2009 and it does not have, I thought all models with ESA had.

I will use the bike mostly for commuting in Cape Town. In winter on the wet roads, would it have been better to get with traction control?
