Awesome trip, do you have a gps track you can post, I'd dig to see it on a map?

I'll try to do the GPS track but I don't have Mapsource on my computer. I might have to do it the old fashioned way on a paper map  :mwin

Ask Stoffel to invite you again when it is very dry and he has to feed that 1000 sheep.
That is the hard part of farming there. A bliss when it rains but hell when it does not.

O and I was hoping this RR would be in Afrikaans! :mwink:

Definitely a different story when you have to feed the sheep when there is no food around.
Belive me Chris you don't want me to write my RR's in Afrikaans. It will probably end up being half German and we have to employ a translater.

That was a really bakgat thing you did as was the way you wrote about it.

What an good RR.

It actually sparks a little bit of jealousy!

Everything about this trip must have been an awesome experience. But jeez!  Sleeping on something that iced through the night is hectic!

So, how does 1000 sheep sound like?

Do you still hear the lambs Harry?  (Clarize)  ;)
Thanks for all the nice pics and sharing your story.

Hey Harry, PM me when they have to go back again to where they came from. I'd love to lend a hand.

Don't get the wrong impression guys. We didn't use our bikes, we walked with the sheep for 5 days.
Are you still interested?

Thanks DR. It really was an awesome experience. It was actually not so cold at night with all the extra blankets we have had.
But yes, the sheep almost never stop talking to each other. Only for a couple of hrs during the night they go quiet. This is when I always woke up to check if the herd is still there  :mwink:

Thanks for sharing - that truly is a special and peaceful part of our beautiful country that your unique writing and photographic skills bring into our homes  :thumleft:

Stunning landscape and photos. You have no idea how envious I am  O0

Yes!  Please.  Life is so short to miss something like this.

WOW! Awesome! Great RR, great pics. Would also like to go on such a sheep herd. (Furthest I walked thus far was 200km.)

Thanks for sharing Harry.Nice RR and stunning pics :thumleft:

Sounds like Hinksding is sorted for shepherds next time. He'll just have to groom a bit better with all those cameras around.
