Triumph Motorcycles South Africa in conjunction with I-RIDE invites you to the Triumph Adventure Training Day to be held on Sunday the 17th of July 2016 at the Leeuwenkloof Farm , Cradle of Humankind.
Directions: GPS Coordinates: S 25°49.026 E 27°49.947 (Decimal, minutes, seconds format)
Travel towards the Hartbeespoort Dam on the R512, Turn left on the R104 Road, travel for 4 km turn left on the D400 Road (Hartbeeshoek Road ) travel for 3km and turn left into the Leeuwenkloof Environmental Facility just before the ADA Training Facilities.
Triumph Signage will be on the left hand side of the road.
Follow the gravel road for 2km to the main reception area. Registrations will be at the Lapa.
All Triumph riders and friends welcome!
This training day is specifically aimed at giving you an opportunity to learn the fundamental skills needed to go off-road riding in a safe environment, under the instruction of accredited instructors.
No previous off-road experience is needed!
If you have done off-road riding before, but want to learn these skills, you are also welcome.
Cost: R525 per rider which includes refreshments and lunch.
Pillions/partners are more than welcome @ R120 pp.
Pre-booking is essential as space is limited. There will be no entries accepted on the day.
Entries close on the 13th of July.
Request an entry form from your local dealer. Payment should also be made to confirm your booking.
Please bring a copy of your entry form for registration purposes.
There will be 2 courses on the day:
Course 1 : Basic Principles of Off Road Riding
Groups will be limited to 1 instructor for 10 students
Explain the riders position on the motorcycle,
Warm-up exercises,
U-turn Technique
Cone riding – Weight distribution
Riding parallel logs – Meters long
Basic Introduction to Sand Riding
Braking Exercise
Riding the skills track – Combination of the days exercises, this is for fun and everyone can do this.
Course 2 : Fundamental Skills to Off Road Riding
Groups will be limited to 1 instructor for 10 students
Explain the riders position on the motorcycle,
Warm-up exercises,
Figure of Eight Technique
3.5 Meter Cone riding – Weight distribution
Riding parallel logs 5-6 Meters long
Intermediate Sand Riding - Weight distribution and Turning
Braking Exercise
Riding the skills track - Combination of the days exercises, this is for fun and everyone can do this.
If you have attended training previously, and are confident in your skills, you can enter the 2nd course, The Fundamental Skills to Off Road Riding. This is the next step up from the Basic, but is not advanced.
The focus is still to learn the basics in a controlled environment which will not put you or your motorcycle at risk.
The day will run as follows:
• Registration and coffee will take place from 08:00.
• Rider Briefing and Welcome at 08:30
• Training will commence at 09:00
• The riders will be divided into 4 groups of 10 each, with two groups doing the BASIC PRINCIPLES course and two groups the FUNDEMENTAL SKILLS course.
• We will then have a lunch break around 12:00 – 12:45
• After lunch at 12:45 – 14:30 we will traverse a track that puts together all of the exercises from the training. The course is set out to cater for both groups.
• Handing out of certificates from 14h45 - 15h15.
• Canteen will be available on the day
And as always, please feel free to bring along a partner/friend. We don't mind if he or she is not on a Triumph.
