I also took a few pictures

From the Bloemfontein side we rode through Golden Gate which was completely burnt.

The tar road is definitely not boring
Dankie Pieter!

More Saturday route.

A quick pre late-lunch stop for vetkoek with chips and something cold.

The tunnel on the Sunday route

:thumleft: Dit gaan 'n lekker event wees.

Same ride, different perspective - often of Noneking's behind. This is going to be an event for the record books, spectacular terrain a few challenging sections hosted from a venue that is perfect for these events.

I was somewhat - make that very - intimidated to be invited to ride with many of the elite of SA Adventure riders, and was very relieved to have a 890 Rally to carry me over some interesting terrain.

The Saturday ride was close to 370km if I recall. Did about 900km  to get to venue from Nelspruit and back

It was soon going to be dark and we were far away from our lodging. What followed must count among the worst 90 minutes spent on a bike.......going through ******** towns like Tugela Ferry and riding at high speed after dark with a smoked visor....... I was glad to arrive at Battlefields lodge in one piece. :eek7: :eek7:
Nice report as usual NK.
Off topic but the only memory I have ofTugela Ferry is bad one that gave me the cold sweats for a few days. I bought my 1st and second 800GS from Ryder Motorad in Hillcrest. While waitng for the 1st one to be prepped I met up with another rider who was having his 1200 serviced. He stayed in Piet Retief and we decided to ride together as I was going to visit my sister in Bethal.
Just out of Tugela we crossed a bridge with a sharp left turn shortly after the bridge we were riding next to each other when a guy towing a trailer and coming from the oposit direction cut the corner.
With the other guy on my left I had nowhere to go and the trailers muguard cut my boot open, bent the right rear foot peg and destroyed the right side plastic pannier. I stil dont know how it happened but I did not even have a scratch on my right foot.

Jo, hierdie lyk soos bike nirvana - dis die tipe roetes wat ek soek.
Lekker video en fotos - maak dat ek al klaar in my agterkop my volgende roete beplan, sodra ons die een van 20_22 Aug gedoen het

Thanks for sharing, some beautiful scenery and the pig factor close to town's
