I would appreciate some feedback from GS owners who have had problems and sorted out drive shaft issues. My brother has a 2007 GS. The universal on the engine side of the shaft has packed up. The other universal has some play, but has not broken (yet). He has been quoted R13K from BMW to replace the shaft and universals.
On checking a few posts on this forum it seems some people have had issues, with mixed success. I think the key is that the shaft itself has not been damaged, so it seems that just replacing the universals at each end should be cheaper than replacing the whole shaft if this can be done. He lives in White River, but can get it to me in Joburg if necessary.
Does anyone know where this can be done.
