Dawgs, need your collective help please.
As you all know by now, I've managed to knock up the wife and subsequently sold my Varadero in record time. I've managed to keep a little slush fund aside to get me something else.
I'm leaning towards XT 550/600/E/Tenere and/or Zook DR600/650/750 or maybe even XR500/600. The latter I must be honest doesn't suit my riding preference that much, but I will consider a decent option. I prefer the Sunday morning put-put around the neighborhood and looking around, smelling flowers, cows, etc. So, really what I need is an older DS type more than a MX type.
Some things that'll play a role:
- budget is very limited R10k - R15k (yes, I know, I will get probably squat for this, but I have to try - hate to see my slush fund turned into curtains FFS!)
- my size (or roundness - my BMI is perfect if I were 14 feet tall).
- something I can leave standing in the garage for a month untouched.
- I have a bike trailer, so I can get to riding areas without too much trouble.
Any other ideas? Options.
