Hi fellow WDs. :mwink:
I have also posted this in the Suzuki DR/DRZ and DR 650 Threads. :thumleft:
I am in the process of installing a starter torque limiter in my '99 DR 650 SE. (The '98 & '99 models' engines were assembled with a solid gear. ??? LeCap can provide some insight! )
I have purchased the torque limiter, but need a starter from a '96/'97 or '00 onwards. Prefer a late model one.
The difference is the splined shaft of the starter motor. Mine only has a splined shaft of 31mm in lenght.
Have not seen/measured a later model one, but the torque limiter has 4 cogs, and therefore the splined shaft needs to be appox 5mm longer. The end of the splined shaft also has a round section which goes into a support bearing. I would estimate this round section to be about 10 - 15 mm in length.
Need a complete starter motor from a '00 or later model DR 650.
Any help will be appreciated! :thumleft:
