Still figuring out Google Photos :dousing:  Changed some stuff so should work now.

There's a glut of Kaokoland reports at the moment, so don't think I'll be writing one.  Also, we didn't have the complex human & group dynamics of the Quest guys, nor the mechanical and medical dramas of the God's country report - just 3 guys riding their bikes, dodging ellies and drinking warm beer :ricky:

That said - busy putting together a lekker video - we took a small drone with so hopefully some good footage.

Heel OK, basies dieselfde bike as die 1190 as jy my vra.  Die traction control het die manne partykeer uitgevang (hulle het vergeet om dit af te sit), veral op die klipperige gedeeltes waar jy moet klim.

My 990 het niks TC of ABS nie so darem nie daardie probleme gehad nie.

In die sand is al die groot bikes maar omtrent dieselfde dink ek.  Haak 2de, maak oop en hou vas :ricky:

To be honest it takes away a bit of the experience.  With the luggage as well as extra fuel (17L) and water (8L) the bikes becomes a bit of a pig in the rivers.  I was a bit tense other side of Puros canyon because we saw elephants and it would've been difficult to do a quick turn and escape.  Also saw big cat prints there, which didn't help.

There were times where I just wanted to enjoy my surroundings but the sand requires 100% mental and physical effort.  Will go back on 690 or 701 to experience it fully.

For now the 990 is what I have, that is why I took it there.  I do a lot of sand riding so it was OK, but otherwise I would recommend taking a smaller bike.
