Yesterday my boney took me to Hennie Alberts Street in Alberton. Arrived at 10:00 and left at 11:00. Overcast weather and perfect for riding with summer gear. Naked in the sense of having no raincoat or over boots. Travelling light so to speak. Two hours later I received video footage of cars up to their doors in the water. In Hennie Alberts River, sorry, Street. I was home and dry in the Vaal Triangle . . .

@Noneking those pics of Sunday looks very similar to areas I grew up in Natal.
Melmoth, Ulundi and Vryheid areas.
Almost make me long for those hills again!

First proper ride on my (well known on this forum) KTM 525.

After a few teething issues when she arrived (brakes, chain, sprockets, new tyre), now running like a dream.

That 525 motor is incredible, so strong and tractable.

Loving the handling and suspension of a big dirt bike.

Cruised from home in Howick up the Karkloof valley towards Craigie Burn Dam, across to Mooi River, fill up on fuel and free coffee at Windmills in Nottingham Road and home via the Curries Post road.

Can’t wait to build up to some proper rides and to hook up with the KZN 500 crew of JonW and the team

Quick breedsnek ride this weekend, good to be out and about again, this bike makes me a much better rider. redoing old faithful rides again it's been so long. We really are blessed here in Gauteng, the magaliesburg provide so much. Got caught in a lekker burst of rain on the way home.

Did Sani over the weekend and through Lesotho back to Caledonspoort... rain changes everything... 1600km for the weekend and 5 degrees on top on Saturday.

The Nottingham forest roads were slick as hell.... very treacherous. The old Railway line road and tunnel from van Reenen also well worth the ride although one of the BMW's almost went the embankment due to the slippery conditions!

The 990 behaved impeccably as usual for a 15 year old bike which doubles as my daily commute scoot.... Used the comfort seat for the weekend as the R seat I usually have on is a torturous piece of kit for a long ride....
