I am in the process of selling my DRZ in order to buy my kids each an off-road bike.
My boys are 10 and 13 of medium height and build. They have messed around a bit but are still learning to ride.
I am looking at something like a JR80 and a YZ85. The problem is the JR is getting quite long in the tooth and spares are a problem. The JR will also be too small within a year I think but will help with confidence in the beginning. The YZ might not be the best bike to learn on because of the power delivery.
Do I go for something like the Big Boy pit bikes at roughly the same price new as an old Japanese bike or will I be disappointed?
Any other suggestions?
