Which model year of GSA's have servo-assisted brakes?

Looking at buying a 2nd-hand BMW 1200 GSA.

Do any dogs know which model-years have servo-assisted brakes?

I know BMW introduced them - and then propmtply discontinued them. I am looking for a NON-servo-assisted bike.
I think the servo runs all of the time, but when the bike cuts out - there are no effective brakes whatsoever
(heard this 1st hand from a GSA rider)
I know it is approx R30K to replace the servo unit! Yikes!
I also THINK that an accident some years back on a GS or GSA was with servo-assisted brakes; bike cut out, and then no brakes down steep incline. Or some such.
