I was heading out to Moab, Utah last week for a KLR gathering and annual riding of the White Rim trail when I came across a dog on the road near some Indian reservations that appeared hurt as he did not move out of the way of several cars in front of me.

I noticed that his legs were tied up underneath him and knew that if I did not pull over and help that he would become road kill.

I pulled over and approached the dog with a small pocket knife. At first I was not sure whether he was going to allow me to touch him, but he seemed friendly enough and allowed my to cut the rope from his neck and paw.

He is the black and white in the front and you can still see a little of the rope around his collar. I guess he must be a house pet that got loose and then tangled up on his leash.

The three dogs ran around my truck at first as if to say "get us the hell out of here". I got in, they looked back wagged their tails and went about on their way.

What a great feeling that was to help out the dog.

Below is a teaser and once I get some time I will post a ride report.

Cheers
