This day encompasses two greats in the world of adventure motorcycling – the famous Canal Road venturing from near Hartbeespoort into the wilderness of the Northwest Province following the irrigation canal that stems from Hartbeespoort Dam. It's an easy, casual, scenic ride doable on all off-road capable motorcycles.

The end destination is the famous Jericho Rock near the town of Ga-Tsogwe east of Beestekraal – https://maps.app.goo.gl/W7UuxPJ5Sg9CEhiv9.

It's a sight to behold! People joining the ride will be given the option of either staying at the bottom of the rock or riding the side path to the top. While not overly technical, the short ride up might be tricky for newer riders or riders on heavier motorcycles. We will be on-hand to help everyone up.

The ride starts from Mulligans Pub – https://maps.app.goo.gl/qaz2iC2sYzawZX87A – at 9am to ride to the start of the Canal Road nearby. It will be fun but long day on the road, and the route does require some tar riding through the town of Brits on the way there, and mostly tar riding back to Mulligans afterwards. Vehicles and trailers can be safely left in the Mulligans parking lot during the ride. We should make it back to Mulligans by late afternoon.

There are no restaurants or shops (apart from a shebeen near Jericho Rock) along the route so please bring lots to drink and any required snacks. Mulligans will be serving coffee and breakfast in the morning from 7:30. We will have some boerewors rolls on the braai at the base of the rock when we arrive.

This is a Hero supported ride but anyone with a street-legal dirt capable bike is welcome. There is one simple rule – be lekker!
