I loaded my XR excessively this past week end and did some riding with it. What a crap experience.
I'm sommer lus and sell the thing and get a KTM525.
It is definitely not a tourer of any kind. I spoke to Beserker as well and failed to understand how he could have done the Angola trip with so much baggage as I was really not enjoying it.
I felt some excessive vibration through the foot pegs. The rear tyre is new, a Maxxis M6006 and was hopping up and down when I looked back. The rear coil is an Eibach coil and the shoc was serviced by Martin peatzold before I took delivery of it. I think I must try and balance it.
Looks like I'll have to use less stuff, with just a racksack and tent, and no topbox that I packed in case of rain.
Any advice, the most of the weight was also on the rear axle or past it, and the centre of gravity also quite high.
Advice? I spoke to Conrad and he said that the handling was gonna be sh1t etc etc!
