Here's a handy gear ratio calculator i downloaded off some stateside site. Covers XR650L, XR600R, XR400R and a few others. Simple xls spreadsheet that's easy to use
by changing the countershaft and final drive sprockets and it tells you all you need to know.
Currently running a 14 XRR front and std. 45 rear on the XRL. Have a 42 ready and waiting for the long trips. That takes it back to standard 3.000 reduction with the advantage of saving the countershaft from wear. Check the spreadsheet, it's a cool tool.
