So Plaasmeisie went for a 20 000 service at Shimwells....a day later i go off on the ladies bash in Baaberton....on the way, with loads of dust, i keep on smelling plastic burning....and......i see some oily substance had sprayed over my right leg, the back of the bike...sections of the engine....
i investigate......the plastic smell: clutch cable casing is touching a little tube and is burning onto it , as well as touching something else lower down, and is also melting onto that.....same as the spare clutch cable that is ziptied onto it....both melting....
i phone Shimwells...they say the only part of the engine that should be hot, must be the exhaust......and that i must be wrong.... ??? i can see where it is burnign and melting.....
i investigate the oily stuff: now covered with dust..so easy to see the pattern....
also around the oil reservoir its oily.....on my knee brace.....Shimwells says: it must be the oil that was overfilled and leaked out....the lid is on so tightly , i cannot open to check the oil.....and it was clean there when i received the bike...so its not a overfill spill...and surely overfilling the reservoir should not be done by specialist?
the breakfluid, the coolant ,both, the level it should be ....what could have caused this? How do i fix it....are the cables compromised, is there a way i can tie it again out of the way, the way it must have been before the service? advice would be handy...
