Good day boys and girls! O0
we planned a trip down to th O0 free state this weeknd that is past now ;-)
we were 3 XT's, 2 'R' and 1 'X'
another rider had a Fazer600 which went leke on the long roads.
anyhoo, the 1 issue with long distance riding or doin HW miles on the Xt as alot of folks would know, is the inevitable headshake that develops over 120kph.
i had alot of debate around this bloody dangerous occurance that could happen at anytime.
i considdered buying exp forksprings, or if that failed a steering dampner at high cost.
i had a chat with a friend of mine that supplied the powercommander and DNA filters to my bike and does dynotuning.
he suggested spacer inserts he had engineerd for his XT,
i paid a lil over R100 for the set.
i promise you, had it fitted and the bike is 100%, we did 170-180 with the XT's in heave crosswinds etc, no headshake and no feeling of any steering discomfort, handling is much better and even did a 30km gravel section with rocks and water crossings, no hasstles, bike is much stabler. so i would reccomment any1 with an xt to PMme.
before you quit on an awsome bike, there are a couple things to do to it ;-)
1)steering spacers
2)power commander
3)DNA stage1 and stage 2 filters.
doin 42HP on the wheel now, std i think is claimed at 34.
regards
