I was fortunate enough to buy a prime example of a 2011 XT660Z last week.
It had 7900KM on the odo and a couple of extras too  :thumleft:

Seeing as I always like to personalise my rides a bit, I decided to do something about its bulky tail.
The entire tail piece including stock exhaust weighs in at a lumpy 8.8kg  ::)

The weight would have been "acceptable" had it been at the bottom of the bike, but being at the upper end of its tail amplifies its effect.

I decided to fit DRC's generic rear light/number plate holder in combination with their LED flush mount indicators

I positioned the tailpiece, using cable ties. The holes in the base plate of the bike's tail piece provides ample locations to fasten the DRC unit.

The stock exhaust was replaced by Stealth's new carbon tip oval exhaust. I was pleasantly surprised by their workmanship, and the result was an almost 7Kg drop in weight.

This entire exercise cost me R4800 which is pricey I know, but looks cool and is definitely noticeable in weight and performance
