Well this morning we met at the garage as Wes suggested (Wes next time let us chose a meeting place that serves breakfast, or at least coffee). From here on it was just a ball of excitement for the rest of the day. Firstly this was my first ride with the wild dogs, so I get to meet a whole bunch of guys I shall ride with again anytime. Today I learned that dogs look after there own. The guys were so friendly they even requested I ride (pillion) with them, and they nearly all took a turn at this. I really felt like a star.

Now I have just a few â??issuesâ? to sort out on Sunday, then I can hopefully reveal the full extent of the trip. Oh yes, least I digress too much, we (together with about another 100 friendly bikers) met Charlie & Ewan at Lâ??Agulhas, and we (yes a whole bunch of us) rode with them to Millerton. Now I am not accustomed to have a car with flashing blue and red lights ride in front of me (have experienced this behind me, then we would stop or a chat). Also this is the first time that I have seen a GS1200 (fully kitted) wheelie right behind a cop car on a public road, and no one complains.

Hopefully I shall be able to post a bit of good news (for me) soon.

p.s. It appears to me that if anyone wants to attend a BMW. function on anything other than a BMW, the gremlin shall try and get you.

Ok for all those that were there, my bike is as going. It was a case of the bark being far worse than the bite.  Once again thank you to all the guys that helped, and for all the lifts. My bike is back in MY garage, just a bit dirty with mud, from my test run with XT660.

Bobnob take it easy now, some of us can not be bothered about riding long ways on a bike.  I also have air con in my van and a perfectly good trailer. So why not. >:D

Ok , whoa now, keep it down.  Ths was a recovery after the other wild dogs helped me out on Saturday after a breakdown.  What actually happened is that due to an unforseen and unplanned situation my bike deciided to be a real dog and mark territory. It dumped all (at least most of it|) the engin oil onto the tar, now to me that was not a good thing. This also meant that I (or anyone) was not going to ride it until the situation was rectified (at this point I suspected a cracked engine case).  However once in the workshop (read back home) we discoverd that a bolt (not sump plug) in the frame that kept the oil in had fallen out. I must learn more about my bike and do my own servicing me thinks. I know I have already, but I really can not express enough graditude to the other dogs with me. They just all helped. Hey if this is what it is about, I know I am in the right crowd.
