Since swopping my 650 for the 800, I’ve done a lot of reading on this site.....I mean a lot...... .  I love this forum!  I’ve made a list of the possible issues with part numbers etc. I was a bit nervous looking at the list but hey, the 650 clearly set a tuff and unfair benchmark.

I’m not to worried about the fuel pump, clutch, steering head bearings and water pump issues because you can see or feel when they decide to go. My concern is the wheel bearings.  How easy is it to pick that up? I ride with earplugs and on Mitas so it is a rough ride at best. Another question. Those of you that had to replace wheel bearings and know the full history of your bike…did you:

1. Do deep water crossings?
2. Wash your bike with a high pressure cleaner?

I’m thinking that I should remove the wheel bearings one Saturday and check them, clean and re-grease if they are ok. How else will I know?
