Hi guys,
Started a gravel trip anti clocwise around Lesotho on Monday. I have tried to stay of the tar and currently standing on 2300km for the week, mostly gravel. Tar only where dirt wasn't an option. Some very bad roads and tracks. Also did Lundin's Pass, Naudesnek, Potrivier Pass, Sani and finished of gravel with Nothingham Road today.
My issues so far:
- Flat battery first morning in Clarens. No problems after that.
- Exhaust came loose from frame, bolt lost and thread in frame stripped.
- sidestand bracket bent and springs opened up. Stand would not go up and stay up. Bike topples over when put on sidestand.
- subframe broke in two places. This is probably due to my luggage on back of bike. Packed VERY light, but included 5 l petrol bladder).
Now stuck in Ladysmith KZN. Pulled frame together with straps and planning on riding 500 km home without luggage on back.
I'm disheartened to say the least. The HP was unbelievable but all these issues has left a bad taste in my mouth......
