Need some advise on a F800 GS, 2006 model. According to the current owner, the crank bearings failed upon startup. Haven't used the bike for a while, but started it every 2 weeks to charge the battery. Oil filter was removed, found some copper on it.
Some questions to those in the knowledge of these bikes.
Why would the bearings fail on startup
Is this a common problem on them
What would be a budget cost to repair
What would be the most cost effective, repair or look for another engine as the damage is unknown
Any leads on who might have spares.
