Hi WD's

I need help!

My 2013 690 Enduro R left me stranded in Calitzdorp the other day. Started losing power and was backfiring like mad. Had to pillion all the back to CT (embarrassing) and fetched the bike the next day.

Thought that it would be a great project to fix the bike in the mancave as I'm mechanically skilled. So started reading up on forums what the cause might be. Most of the posts referred to TPS sensors that might be out of calibration. So I started from one possible cause to another, testing the bike after each repair. To list a few :

  • Serviced the bike (oil, filters ect)
  • Changed the spark plug
  • Calibrated the TPS
  • Stripped and cleaned the throttle body
  • Performed valve clearance adjustment
  • Removed and tested petrol pump
  • Remove and tested injector
  • Replaced fuel filter
  • Went through all the plugs and connections
  • Did the throttle reset where you turn throttle without starting bike
  • Did a 15min idle procedure
In most of the cases above, the bike idled fine (sometimes stalling) but as soon as I open throttle it would stutter, backfire and die.
I even got myself the Tune ECU cable and software to assist with the repair. I got these errors that concern me :
  • P2118 throttle motor drive circuit malfunction
  • P0560 ecm power supply fault
  • P2119 throttle position fault
I'm most probably setting the bike on fire by the end of the week so any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers
Munger
