Wilddog Event Western Cape Bash 2025. 21 - 23 March

The 2025 Western Cape Bash will be held at Ons Karoo Plaas, Vleiland, Rouxpos on the (long) weekend of 21-23 March 2025. Leave the Thursday and take a wider ride with an overnight stop to the bash. The event starts Friday 21 March.

Bash attendance is capped at 60 due to catering.

About the venue:
Ons Karoo Plaas is nestled in the foothills of the Klein Swartberg, in the Vleiland area (Rouxpos) a few kms off the dirt road that connects Laingsburg and Seweweekspoort
Nearest fuel is in Laingsburg (47km) and Ladismith (70km)

Nearby is Bosluiskloof pass, Gamkapoortdam, Anysberg Nature Reserve, Seweweekspoort and Floriskraal dam. Several great dirt roads can be used to access the venue. One mostly tar road is available for those in a hurry.

The site has free Wi-Fi

The ablutions are neat and have Eskom dependant electricity and gas geysers for hot water. There are 7 showers and the thrones are supplied with toilet paper
Washing up facilities for own cutlery is at the ablutions area

Accommodation is a choice of camping, backpackers, tents and caravans (well equipped with tents, fridges and braais)
Accommodation units each have an emergency light for loadshedding plus each unit has a fridge available. All beds booked are supplied with bedding and a towel.

Campers - bring your adapters for charging and your camping / headlight for times of darkness. All sites have electrical (Eskom) connections - camp sites must share between 2 sites.

There is a pool to cool off in.

The bar:
It is an honesty bar. We are all familiar with how that works. Anything used needs to be recorded on an honesty sheet and must be paid for before departure by either cash or card. The bar has a fair variety of drinks and cover the basics like rum, whiskey, gin, beer, brandy, some shots etc. There might even be wine, but if you have a favourite, bring it along

You may bring your own booze, but please support the venue as much as you can. Topbox drinkers bring their own drinking vessel and do not use the bar's glasses
Ice will be available free for paying customers at the honesty bar but must be bought if you are a topbox / campsite drinker.

Food:
Food slips will be prepared and handed out at arrival for the Friday and Saturday evening meals. No slip = no plate and cutlery, no food and come see Heimer about unpaid fees.

Evenings meals will be a communal braai Friday evening & Potjiekos with extras Saturday evening. This is included in the bash fee.

Other food:
Saturday morning, afternoon, or Sunday morning - bring your own stuff, have leftover braai meat, or have a ride-out e.g. via Seweweekspoort to Ladismith for brunch or have a roadside braai. Extra braai packs will be available for sale at the venue.

Extra braai wood will be available at R40 per crate if you wish to use the braai drum at your caravan site.

Costs:
What you get for your money:
Great venue, many dirt roads to choose from. A chance to ride and spend time with your buddies and meet some new ones. Accommodation to suit your budget, Friday and Saturday evening meals, morning coffee or tea and a bash sticker. If we are lucky, some hand-out prizes might be available. If prizes are available a prize draw will be held about an hour before the Saturday evening meal. If you sit around elsewhere like at your camp / caravan site, you will miss out like what happened to some unnamed dogs.

You get food plus--
- Camping 2 days: R610 pp
- Camping Saturday Only: R375 pp
- Backpackers (single beds) R950 pp

The rest of the accommodation are Caravan and tent based.

• All single beds R950pp
• Double beds = R1700 per couple
• Double beds for one person only = R1200

Couples:
Karoonessie will only accept bookings for couples – until a future date where it will open for singles. It can take 2 couples.


Bring enough cash for your extras
One day (Saturday) visitors are limited to campers.

Pick your caravan friends well as single and double beds share the same space. Some single beds are in the caravan tents.
