Hi All After my TW200 "barnfind rebuild" the farms neighbor plonked a CRF at my feet and asked me to do the same! she starts reasonably well and runs ok but smokes like a steam locomotive! Low-to NO BUDGET bike clean up, we stripped it and although i reckon a new piston should be installed...

Update for closures sake. ordered and eventually got: new piston and rings, intake valve and guide and cotters as well as cyl base and head gasket as this was a budget " n boer maak n plan"  rebuild, no unnecessary other new items nor any engineering. so we moered out the broken valve guide...

Hahaha: 5 KTM's later (two as we speak) i havnt had this damage nor expense yet! I suppose if you ride them hard you must ride them well and service them well! I have never owned a Yamaha before, only KTM's a BMW and lots of Hondas! lets see how we tackle this  O0

oops, herewith the bike. obviously someone took a tumble and she rev'd herself to death, or, we assume, that they changed down to early on a downhill section of the farm and over revved her! Unfortunately, No-one know nothing  >:(

This bike was supposedly be the farm managers at one of our satellite pasture farms in Plett area. On an inspection, the bike was standing rather forlornly and we were told; "its not running well" On a subsequent visit, the same story, but on closer inspection we realised the bike wouldnt even...
