I had a Dakar and 640 simultaniously, also reasoned that the Dakar was going to be the commuter and the 640 for playing. did not last long, poor Dakar never got ridden.........

I owned both (new), simultaniously in the years 2002 to 05 , They both have their merits, as listed in other responses, however, if i were to choose one, especially with off road in mind: It is a no brainer (costs- consumption-odd hiccup aside) the KTM is more FUN  :thumleft:

no happy button, ama kick-kick  8) (well only von kick) the lighting system supplied, would technically comply with roadworthiness (indicator-hooter-high/low beam-tail/brake light-speedo etc) however the bike is not NATIS registred and remember to get a COF the tyres would also need replacing...

Nope, KTM is in the future. So soon, you can buy what they call a 2012, but we are in 2011. The bike is a 2003 spec model but arrived in SA and sold in early 2004. The 2004 model has the one piece tail piece (rear fender and side number boards are one) whereas this one is two piece. That was...

its a honest sale, as is there are many weekends of fun to be had, then will require tyres, brake pads.
