Are we sure about that? Its a good point that you can be hijacked at the gate that is locked and that you are "more alone" in a farm attack. However when are you not alone during any farm attack anyway? That is my rationale. If I was living there I would seriously rig up frigging claymores or...

On any other Sunday I would be upset about this, but we don't know why it has been locked. If I had a farm anywhere in RSA, I lock as much of the access up as possible to minimize risk from the farm murderers & to hell with any riders.

Maybe so, but also a poor workman always blames his tools. I recall a top rider going down like this on the Dakar a few years back. It happens that riders make mistakes. Maybe a glove stuck, who knows. But to blame the equipment if there aren't lots of failures like this is probably premature.
