Unfortunately the new owner of the farm at the far Eastern end, Rooifontein on most maps, has decided to lock a gate at the Western edge of his property, so this is no longer a through road.
There is also a new gate structure at the Eastern end (near the R355) which I assume is also likely to be locked.
Very sad, as this has been our preferred route to the Tankwa (Eastward) and to Cederberg (Westward).
This is the road North East of Ceres, that connects the Baviaanshoek road to the R355 some km North of the fork to Calvinia/Sutherland. On Tracks4Africa it us also marked as the Craig Marshall Pass.
Below is a map with the locked gate location marked.
