YeeeeHaa. Got my bike back today. Just in time. Gear shift still feels funny, but at least all the gears are back in the gearbox. Hope it works for the weekend.

Holding thumbs, but looks like my bike may be rideable by the weekend. But I will put the tracks in the loaner GPS anyway. Not sure where, if, what or when I want to ride.  I live a pitching wedge from the sea, so I prolly won't do a seaside sprint.

Well, now the mechanic and I are both confused. He says he took off the clutch housing, inspected the stuff in there, saw nothing wrong, put it back together, and he says the problem went away. I dunno if I should be happy it's fixed, or concerned he found nothing wrong ?

Thanks - have not got the bike at moment - it's up a bike-shop. Never thought to try that, but everything seemed fine to a quick eyeball - the lever moves fine - just no gear above 3rd - just neutral.
