Hi Guys, I am thinking of getting a second hand 1200 GS or GS Adv within the next year or so. Year models from about 2011 onwards. Is there a specific 'sweet spot' year model to look at? Performance and electronic features are not important to me, but reliability is.

Has anyone else noticed this: Sometimes when I start my 800Gs, there is a single clack sound in the engine. It sounds rather high up, right under the airbox. It sounds almost like the clack you hear when turning off the engine.....

This morning I adjusted the damping on my 800 by turning the screw as fas clockwise as it would go, then back about half a turn. This gives me less damping than suggested, but results in a pretty comfortable ride.
