    New owner - XR200R '98

The wheel turns, and I am back on an oldie. I started life off on some 1980s model XL125, then had a line of other bikes. I was fortunate enough to have owned WR250, XR650L and my CRF250L. All of those were amazing, albeit the 650 was too high for these legs (kouba link or not). Now, because of...

    FS: 2020 Honda CRF250L (Sold)

The more you guys comment, the more I want to keep it. But I feel it's not at home here. I am quite in the rough and rocks all day. It's a smooth girl, she needs gravel roads and passes.

    FS: 2020 Honda CRF250L (Sold)

Hello, guys. I appreciate the opportunity the post my ad here, rather than gumtree. :) Selling for the reason of not using it, at all, as you can see from the km. We are using our TW a lot on the farm, and I feel too bad riding the CRF here. Also, it's a bit of a lot of bike to use day in and...

Sat phone or Garmin in reach mini?

The InReach is super stable, and has two way comms. The SpotX has two way comms with an antenna that seems to lose 1 in 3 tracking points. The SOS button DOES get you help if you are subscribed to it. Everything has a monthly sub that crappy. The inReach AND the Sat phone uses Iridium network...

Pissed off that I am relatively poor

I had a good 20 years in software, made a lot... was never happy. Got retrenched before covid, not going back. Invested the little bit I have into my crypto trading (which generates enough for my petrol and homestead maintenance) and the rest was used to settle debt. I have almost nothing, and I...

    CRF250L - Understanding F.I

Also not sure, I haven't noticed anything either. I do notice that I have to gear back EVERYTIME the uphill is more than 0.00000001 degrees. So once I understand the "Safety" of fuel ratio here, I will likely remove the spark arrestor and backfire screen. Not at the risk of running leaner...

    FortNine's Fuel Stabiliser Horror

I had a chat with someone about storing petrol for our bikes on the Karoo farm a while ago. The topic of moisture ingress and general oxidation problems came up, especially for larger tanks. Not sure what everyone does, but I came across FortNine's video on the topic...

    Automatiese reen meter

I have a complete weather station, made by Froggit, which was around R2k to bring in from EU, and it has been flawless and accurate with the rain ever since. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IWITZE4 Otherwise, look for the HP2000 stations available locally. Several of my neighbours...

    CRF250L - Understanding F.I

I am necromancing this one, because the issue stands. Does anyone have any experience with EJK? I noticed someone here is an agent for them, but they haven't responded to my PM yet  :peepwall: I am still committed to NOT being louder, but becoming less lean (Honda techy confirmed with me that...

Biker kidnapped - end of a travelling era in Africa?- Resolved

I am one of them. Thought it was new, and the title is sensationalist/cynic at best. "the end...... " - since this post was created thousands have continued travelling, including Steph Jeavons. Anyway. Ill put my 50c away.

    CRF250L - Understanding F.I

Fair enough. In terms of forum usefulness, the replies will also help others in the future. But Ill bring back the info after we spoke tomorrow, Dux. Does anyone know who supplies EJK?

    PLEASE READ

As a side-idea, perhaps making posts non-replyable by anyone but the author, will make it more bloggy and 100% followable. That way, the O.P can post, and follow up, and "blog onwards" without the banter inbetween which again, will create a problem with keeping track (filtering through replies).

    CRF250L - Understanding F.I

Morning. Hope you're all free of weird viruses.  :pot: I want to ask about Fuel Injection, since this is the first non-carb bike I have. I'm not keen on "modding" for the sake of it, and I don't intend to do any non-functional farkles, but I would like to suck out an extra hp somewhere. The...

    How bike collections start....

My comment here is below most of you guys, as I now ride a CRF250L as my 'everywhere' slow Adv. However, I spent my school years on an 80s XL125, which I literally took wherever I wanted to go (against my dad's wishes). Up on hills, into caves and through train tunnels. When I started working, I...

This is really funny, for me anyway...

The translation on YT's captions (auto translate) seems to work OK for most part. He is indeed talking a pile of cac. Good stuff.
