Rally Blitz is the bomb. I'm hoping that Highway Dirtbikes release their case/charger/remote button system in time for Amageza. No ICO sensor wires to worry about!

Hi MaxThePanda, do you have any more info on that system and cost?

TR Tec Adventure here in Kzn did all the holders and do a great job, check them out.

The tower and roadbook holder that Howard from TR Tec Adventure builds.

Very strong and neat. :thumleft:

Holders for iPhone? Issue with Rally Blitz is controlling it (and powering - off one cable) - you ideally want big strong buttons like the ICO on the handlebars.

HDB have built a case prototype but they're nowhere near production yet, and don't have a cable/button solution yet, as far as I know.

Bluetooth may be the solution but someone needs to manufacture in a rugged rally-friendly package.

Cracker had a Vector or something..... fraction of the cost of an ICO and works the same in terms of adjusting the trip-meter....
Can you give us the details please bud?

Trail Tech Striker with remote buttons - doubles as your normal speedo when not rallying. Nice for plastics that are using a rally-lite setup.

rally mode has adjustable trip meter, same as ICO and is very readable.

both striker and remote switch are available on e-bay from seperate dealers

Use the trail tech website to find the model that fits your bike or just buy the 4-stroke one for the YZ/WR yamaha - pretty generic

Cost me less than R2k for all, including post and customs charges.

Nice one guys, missed out this one as down the Transkei on another previously planned trip with mates. If another chance comes around I'm keen to give it a shot on the XR.
How does the ICO whatever it's called thingy measure distance? As in trail up and down or as looking in plan view from the top? If the former a properly calibrated cycle computer may work but it is not easily adjustable on the trip.

That would be great Thorston as I know that this type of riding would appeal to you. :deal:

looked like you had a lekker ride down the Transkei. :thumleft:

I think there is a pickup on one of the rims but will let one of the fundis answer your question completely.

You need to be able to adjust the km reading whilst riding in case of getting lost or overshooting etc.

@ROLLING STONE

Ok I'm very excited. gees the smallest things excite me................... :-[

This software is the bomb! :thumleft:

Turned off SIM card and  turned off all data and the software still works 100%. drove to work everything worked as you would expect. so no cell phone reception i.e. no sim card and no data service just GPS on phone.

So what does this mean i hear you asking? this means if you have an IPhone then you have a GOC device for the cost of R160! :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

If you don't have a IPhone buy an old IPhone 4 that some one has done an upgrade on.

Super easy to use and does not have any data implications. would only have to use a charger on longer stages.

I would love somebody to confirm my findings but I'm pretty sure I'm correct. 8)
Thanks for the feedback
Have the iPhone, so now just to get the  app

GPS Tripmeter for Android. Maybe not as polished as Rally Blitz but it is free, no ads and permissions only needed to access your gps.

Thanks  :thumleft:

Wow only saw this now, I knew it was coming up but somehow missed it.

All I can say FANTASTIC!!!!  :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

Well done to the the organizers, Badger, and riders!!

I'm curious: what software did you use to put the road books together?

Some rallies are very tight and have big road books because of all the turns. Im not surprised there were more than 90 Wp's, how long was the total route?

I'm going to chat to the Badger to give him some hints to make the navigation nasty for the next one: Its going to be a comp to see who gets fooled the most. ;) Make sure you read your road books boys ;D

Dammit you guys are making me so homesick its just not funny anymore.

We all got fooled plenty, even with an 'easy' roadbook ..............  ::)

Can't wait for the next one

Matt, did you get any worthwhile video?

I did , just waiting to have the editing finished , I promise to send you a copy cracker
