So on another forum I found a link to the "ADV Hall of Wisdom" on a squeaky starter fix, so since mine ocasionally does it I thought lets give it a try :biggrin: :biggrin:
First disconnect the battery, it is hard wired to the starter, take the time to clean the terminals etc...
The Starter stuff all lurks behind here :biggrin:
So one screw off comes the starter cover
The starter is held on by only two Allen bolts plus the solenoid wire and the power supply
Then 4 quick torxbolts and we have access to the guts of the starter, taking a LITTLE solvent, I used turps, push the gears to the side (careful the pin WILL fall out :biggrin
clean the gears lube with a LITTLE Silicone grease and reasemble, all the squeaks gone, loverly :biggrin: :biggrin:
Lots of access to check the gearbox linkages whilst its off as well :biggrin:
