1200GS ABS pump kaput

So my ABS pump decided it had enough and apparently kicked the bucket (sy laaste asem uitgeblaas).  Started looking around on the www for a replacement unit.  I can't believe the price being asked for this unit. 

I decided to have the ABS disconnected.  I'm waiting for the quote from Jandre.  Anybody done this and how did it affect your experience on the bike?
