Hi
Selling my 1962 Vespa 125 , proceeds of which will go to a young cancer sufferer who is currently battling cancer.
Details of the Vespa :
It is a 1962 125 cc 3 speed. I got it from my father in law who obtained it in 1977 and it was kept in the garage to restore one day. My father in law never got around to working on it and i got it from him. Since i have had it i have worked on it here and there and sent it in to be sprayed etc. The following problems are what i am aware of:
Once motor is hot it battles uphills , flats and downhills no problem at all.
under strain the gearbox skips in second gear.
the steering bearings prolly need to be replaced.
some cosmetic work still needed.
There are no papers for the scooter and i aint gonna lie to you this can be a ball ache.
i have no idea of the value of this bike ,i estimate anywhere tween 25 an 30k in pristine condition, so around 10 k (reduced price ) would be fair. (possibly someone here can determine a value) i will look at any serious offer though, as metnioned proceeds are going to a worthy cause so i aint going to haggle over money. (within reason)
If you run a search under vespa restoration the full rundown on this scooter is published.
Any questions feel free to ask em here or on PM.
