Rossdog
Race Dog
I picked up this 1997 Land Cruiser Series 75 with a 1HZ motor for a very good price about a month back. Over next few weeks I'm going to share with you hounds a full strip down and rebuild, and also a few minor modifications.
The plan is to:
- Strip the Cruiser down to the chassis,
- Repaint the entire chassis with heavy duty chassis paint,
- Cut all the rust out of the rusted panel & weld in new panels,
- Shorten the load bed by 350mm to improve the departure angle and to also piss off the purists,
- Remove old and rusted inner load bin panels, manufacture and add new panels (double wall load bin),
- Manufacture new front & rear bumpers,
- Remove badly dented panels from doors and fenders and weld in new panels (second hand doors are more than R6K!!!),
- Re-upholster seats,
- Complete resparay while it is dissambled,
- Lengten shackle hangers slightly and replace shocks,
- Replace clutch fan,
- New rims and tyres.
Please note that I have neither the time or skill to do this myself. A friend is doing it for me. I have some amazing friends!
