2004 Kawasaki KLR 650.
Mileage 45000km
Bought for a planned trip with my son, but sadly life and health intervened.
It took me a year to go through the bike from front to back.
Following done.
New fork seals.
New brake pads front and back.
New waterpump seal and mechanical seal.
Cleaned the little strainer. (No bits of doohicky).
Checked clutch plates and springs. All within spec.
Rear suspension linkages removed and greased including swingarm.
Manual override switch for fan for when doing technical stuff.
Bought head bearings, but when had it apart it was fine, so just cleaned and greased. Will supply new one with sale.
Bought a new Doohicky from Jorge, but didn't get time to fit it. Will be supplied with sale.
I'm nearly sure it had been done previously because I found no bits in the strainer.
Oil and filter changed. (Actevo)
The plastics were beyond hope, so did my best and sprayed with Rustoleum bakkie liner. Actually came out well. Seems durable. Hasn't cracked or chipped in 6 months.
Will supply half a can of leftover for touch ups.
Tank is rust free.
Also vacuum tap replaced with manual one.
Foam airfilter.
Chain and sprockets are good.
Front hub is perfect. Not chewed up by speedo drive.
Roadworthy done today, valid for 2 months.
Paperwork in my name. Licence up to date.
