My friend, call him Russ, bought this in the USA where it languished until he sent it to Australia where he is now at home.
Aussie bureaucracy has prevented him from licensing in Aus, so he has bought a 1290.
The thought is to ship it here to SA where he has us family/friends that he visits regularly, plus we are busy organising a multi country Southern Africa tour for mid next year.
He has SABS import papers (albeit outdated), as he originally was coming back to SA but has subsequently given up SA residency and has no direct fixed abode.
Anyone have best suggestion to bring it here, register it or just keep it grey (but that could be a border crossing issue), sell it to me at nominal value and i register on his behalf?
what would a bike like this be worth in SA now, based on age/mileage (2005@7500km) extras fitted etc?
I saw the bike some weeks back while visiting, it is pristine!
