2006 KLE 500 regulator/rectifier replacement

Hi all,

My sons KLE 500 has a bloated battery. Checked the idle voltage and it is allover the place, ranging from 14-18 VDC at the battery. Quick check and the stator is with in the limits (66VAC@ 4000 rpm) and Ohms readings are consistent @0.4 ohm. Thus the regular/rectifier is most like the culprit. Will continue with the testing as per the manual but do not have a lot of time as he need the bike to attend classes.

A possible replacement is a Honda CB400N unit. Anybody have experience or advise with regard to a replacement unit?
