@chicco one regret I have is not coming out that way enough when I was living in the Kloof area. Ever since your 2009 event ( simultaneous to the KZN bash at Silverstreams) I wanted to....just never ventured up north.

Good to see you still about. I think of you every time I take folk up that Ngilanyoni hill in the Jimny.
You remember you came with me the first time we found the place?
If you want to visit the hill again I will take the Jimny with the coffee, muffins and dog and meet you at the top.
Maybe my new role? Coffee, drinks and muffins off-road delivery service.
My life is too centered around my camera, soldering iron and electronic datasheets, but I do get out a bit - not enough.

@chicco on the other thread you asked what happened to Bonova....I clearly remember being told of his passing by Badger and his wife but I cannot recall what actually happened to him. I know he did become quite fanatical and started rally'ing and I've got a feeling it was that that lead to his demise...but I could be wrong here.

I remember clearly what happened to Ugie though. He was shot, on his commute, which involved riding through the populated hills to the west of Inanda dam. It was a vendetta. Long and sad story.

From the end of the road you just have to head over the open fields so take a waypoint on the hill.
Its tribal land, so I always just stop at the huts on the way out of respect - last time (dec 2023) the locals were nowhere to be seen so I just drove to the hill.
Give a shout. I will meet you at the turnoff and guide if you like.

If I recall Bonova passed away doing what he loved, had an accident on an outride....

Just spoke to Misty (Tereza), she got married to Kevin I think and they run a Coffee shop in Wakkerstroom, not riding anymore.

I think we had 4 KZN renegade rides, had some awesome moments, at long forgotten places.

Thangami spa
Shushu hotsprings
Lilani hotspring - think @GundaGunda had his 60th birthday there
Tattenham resort - where we had the life shrimps as shooters...they still do it to this day.

we also did some weekend offroad rides to Sodwana, Pongola Ballito, Greytown. wow I miss those rides.

Another place I never got to go to. I don't think it's even existent anymore as a public resort. @woody1 you went there after the Highover bash in 2013.

Speaking of Highover....that place also 'changed hands'....we used to go there regularly, then the (w) couple who was managing it were suddenly given their marching orders despite having a long term employment contract in place. It was all quite strange and dodgy, and scary for them. We sadly never went back after that. It was a magnificent place, we had some awesome weekends there.

Went to Lilani the first time back in '77 and many times after that, before it was upgraded. What good times we had.
