And so it came to pass that Patrick and tocadisco had their inaugural ride on the big bikes at de wildt. We started near morula and rode through to 3 fences avoiding the technical sections. Patrick, a newbie on his dakar was thrown in at the deep end, but he came through strong and im sure will be back for more. Tocadisco abused my name all the way to Cairo but also survived and had a blast. At one stage i was racing the toll gate keeper on his pony to "menlyn". What a blast dicing with a horse and bareback rider, i even got a ride on his pony later. Tocadisco then got propositioned at the GabaMotho cultural village where we had lunch, he looked fairly tempted but then realised he had company - sorry for you. My camera battery died so pics end fairly early, hope you enjoy.
Cheers.

Sorry about some of the pics being too big but there seems to be a problem resizing them.

Hope they were not going to eat those torties, they are protected :deal:

Those big bikes on a hot day! You guys must have been sweating like pigs, well done! Nice photies too.

flip that looks like an awesome ride. How far was it?
I would imagine about 90 kms at de wildt itself.

Those tortoises weren't going to be eaten, they had been kept for a long time by the local sangoma

3 fences on the big bikes is a real challenge, but it is also great skills practise. Do that once or twice a month and ones sand skills will improve 1000 times

Great ride guys

Slick you smuck. How could you do this ride without me. Been shopping at Off-The_Road in Germany for some tricks to boost the horses. Can't wait to get back there in December and do this ride with you guys.

it was FKN HOT .....
